Desert Manna, Inc. is a Food Pantry in East Mesa, Arizona.
Each week we distribute boxes of food at no cost and with no strings attached to families in need in our community.
Do you need help?
We are equipped to serve the community living between Power Road and Meridian, and between McKellips Road and Southern Avenue. If you live outside of this area, we suggest that you go to the website of either the United Food Bank or St Mary’s Food Bank, which can direct you to a Food Pantry closer to you. Since there are about 10,000 people living in our area, we find it necessary to limit ourselves in order to serve them effectively.
PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR SCHEDULE FOR FOOD DISTRIBUTION IS EVERY SATURDAY FROM 8 AM TO 11 AM., EFFECTIVE JULY 29TH 2017.
We average about 400 boxes of food each week, which means that 400 or more families are being fed each week through this Food Pantry.
Every time you come, we ask that you bring some form of ID and some kind of proof of current residence. This can be a Driver’s License or other government-issued ID, a water or electric bill, a vehicle registration, a piece of mail addressed to you at your residence, etc. This is required because in order to do the most we can for the greatest number of families, there is a limit of one box of food per four-person household per week. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
We give out food to as many families as come, until we run out. This has not usually been a problem, but you should know that the rule is “first come, first served.”
The content of the boxes varies from one week to another and is dependent upon what we receive from our donating sources. However, each week we try to see to it that the boxes contain at least: Rice, Beans, Pasta, Canned Goods, Frozen Meat, and Bread and other Bakery Items.

590 N. 96th Street, Mesa AZ 85207, on the campus of Calvary Free Lutheran Church.

Schedule
PLEASE NOTE: OUR SCHEDULE IS SATURDAYS FROM 8 AM TO 11 AM.
THIS WENT INTO EFFECT ON SATURDAY, JULY 29TH 2017. Please also note that as of Saturday, December 9th we will be moving to a new temporary location at 9601 E Brown Road, on the parking lot of Hosanna Lutheran Church, because of construction that will be taking place on our own campus. This will continue for about four to six months.
Would you like to Help?
There are many ways you can help at the Desert Manna Food Pantry!
You can donate food. We take non-perishable food items that have NOT expired. When donating food, please make sure all food items have not expired and that the packages are not opened.
You can volunteer your time and energy at the Food Pantry. We need volunteers to help pack the boxes and distribute them on Saturday, starting at 7:00 in the morning until noon. We can also use help every weekday between about 11 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., unloading the truck and getting all the food on the proper shelves inside the food pantry in preparation for the following Saturday’s distribution.
You can help finance the Food Pantry. We drive a refrigerated truck to pick up donated food every day. There are fuel and maintenance costs for the truck, and for our facility, which includes necessary air-conditioning and walk-in refrigerators and freezers to keep food fresh. Most of the food is also not donated and must be purchased. Your donations are tax-deductible, as we are a Non-Profit 501(c)3 Organization.
You can pray for us, and for the people who are being helped through this effort. Pray for safety as we work, and for God’s provision and His blessing on all the generous donors who are giving so that this work can go on. Many people have needs other than food that we may not be able to meet.
